ACTIVITIES

The following is by no means a complete list of what you can find around La Parare, but a selection to give you an idea of what is available in the area. We try to keep our records updated, and can also help to research if there is something in particular you are looking for.

Beaches

Closest: Nice and all the beaches along Promenade des Anglais
Nicest: Paloma and passables beaches at St Jean Cap Ferrat, and Malla Beach at Cap d'Ail.
A bit different: Escape the heat of the coast and go to the beautiful area along the river and have a little swim in one of the fresh water pools.

Museums and gardens

On the Riviera and its surroundings there are museums for all tastes, ranging from large museums of international standard (Chagall, Matisse, Villa Rothschild…) to the museum of milk, only open on request. There is a very nice drive to visit Saint Paul de Vence and Foundation Maeght.

Restaurants

There are too many to make a full list, so we will just mention a couple:
Chez Rose: within walking distance in the village
Fleur de thym: In Contes just a short drive from here. Very nice restaurant with good service.
Moulin de l’Olivraie in Blausasc: Interesting menu and very nice presentation.
Retour aux Sources in Luceram: Excellent service and very good food in a nice village to visit.
There is a restaurant with Michelin stars in the area:
Auberge de la Madonne, Peillon : Classical French restaurant with a beautiful terrace.
There is also one that we think soon will get their star: Parcours, Falicon: A very good restaurant, excellent wines and set in a modern style.
Why not make a full day: Go to the Paloma Beach and stay for dinner at the lovely restaurant and watch the lights along the coast all the way to Monaco .

Shopping

Some ideas for nice things and gifts to bring home:
Olive oil: Nice is one of the centers for the olive oil production in France.
Wine: The wines of Provence have made a remarkable progress over the last 10 years or so. In the wine stores there is a wide selection, and it's also possible to go to the vine yards and buy directly.
Food and flowers: even if you don't intend to buy anything, a visit to one of the food markets in Provence is a treat.

Golf

Mont Agel, Monaco is the closest and is a spectacular course and then there are at least 13 courses within driving distance.

Helicopter

The ultimate gift: take the limousine from Cannes to La Parare, where you dine and spend the night. In the morning you get picked up by helicopter and make a panoramic tour back to the coast. For more details, see the link on the page for “Our favorites”.

Other

Finally, just to mention a few of the other options available in the area: Biking, canyoning, hiking, climbing, horseback riding, tennis – and a lot more.
